Best time to Visit
Bhutan is a year-round destination, with each season offering a unique travel experience. However, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are widely regarded as the best times to visit.
Spring (March to May): Spring is one of the finest seasons to experience this tour. Hillsides around Paro and Thimphu come alive with blooming rhododendrons and wildflowers, while the valleys of Punakha remain pleasantly warm with daytime temperatures of 20°C to 28°C. Higher-altitude destinations such as Gangtey and Bumthang are cooler, with temperatures generally ranging between 8°C and 20°C, making them ideal for nature walks, monastery visits, and sightseeing. Clear mountain views and comfortable hiking conditions also make this an excellent time to visit Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
Autumn (September to November): Autumn offers crystal-clear Himalayan views and stable weather throughout the journey. Paro and Thimphu enjoy pleasant daytime temperatures of around 15°C to 24°C, while Punakha remains warmer at 20°C to 27°C. In the higher valleys of Gangtey and Bumthang, temperatures typically range from 5°C to 18°C, creating crisp mornings and comfortable afternoons. This season also coincides with several colourful Bhutanese festivals, making it one of the most rewarding times to experience the country’s culture, landscapes, and iconic monasteries.
