- Day 01:Arrive in Paro & Journey to Thimphu
Your journey through Bhutan begins with a spectacular flight into Paro, where snow-capped Himalayan peaks give way to emerald valleys, traditional farmhouses, and forested hills. After completing arrival formalities, meet your guide and travel to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital, following the gentle course of the Paro Chhu and Wang Chhu rivers.
As evening approaches, explore Tashichho Dzong, an elegant fortress-monastery that serves as the administrative seat of the Kingdom and the summer residence of Bhutan’s central monastic body. Its whitewashed walls, intricate timberwork, and peaceful courtyards provide a memorable introduction to Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.

Wake up to the relaxed rhythm of Bhutan’s capital and set out to discover its cultural landmarks. Begin at the National Memorial Chorten, where local residents gather daily to spin prayer wheels and offer their devotions, offering a genuine glimpse into Bhutanese life.
From here, ascend to the hilltop Buddha Dordenma, whose commanding presence overlooks the entire valley.

Leave the capital behind as the road winds through dense forests towards the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m). Marked by 108 white chortens, the pass offers breathtaking views of the Eastern Himalayas on clear days and is one of Bhutan’s most iconic viewpoints.
Descending into the warmer Punakha Valley, take a short detour to Sopsokha Village near Lobesa. From here, enjoy a leisurely walk through terraced rice fields and traditional farming villages to Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. Built in honour of the revered Buddhist saint Drukpa Kunley, the temple remains one of Bhutan’s most visited pilgrimage sites.
Later, cross the elegant Punakha Suspension Bridge, gracefully spanning the Pho Chhu River. Return to Paro through scenic mountain landscapes before exploring Ta Dzong, Bhutan’s National Museum.
